Fireweed Community

The Fireweed Community is a monthly membership for people who are tired of wellness advice that assumes you have endless energy and a body that always cooperates. We're scrappy and resilient (even though we shouldn't need to be), and are always experimenting with new ways to take better care of ourselves.

Each month, you'll receive a new mini-class covering a skill you can return to again and again when life gets (or stays!) difficult. In the monthly classes, learn how to work with your limits, not against them. You'll also get access to a supportive community, a private podcast, and more.

This community is for you if:

  • You need down-to-earth tools you can actually use, not aspirational social media wellness

  • You want to learn how to live more in tune with the seasons and rhythms of nature

  • You're curious about Chinese medicine and want to learn more ways it can fit into your everyday life

  • You're navigating chronic illness and want to improve your wellbeing (within your current constraints)

  • You're neurodivergent and are looking for real ideas, not more pointless advice

  • You feel like you may scream if one more person asks if you've tried cold plunging

What's included?

Monthly mini-class

Monthly audio lesson & workbook

Each month, you'll receive a new mini-class that teaches a practice for well-being. Examples of upcoming topics include:

  • Setting effective health goals

  • Helpful health tracking

  • Supplementing wisely & safely

  • Chinese medicine food therapy practices

  • Mindfulness practices

  • Cultivating joy (when things are hard)

You'll also have access to the library of past mini-classes as long as your membership is active!

Community Spaces

Each monthly class has a dedicated community space where you can discuss your experiments with the topic and share what is working (or not!) for you.

We practice persistence over consistency - so you're invited to bring your full self to these spaces! Not everything we try will work for us, and that's okay.

As a member, you also have access to additional community spaces where you can share resources, discuss highs and lows, and support each other as you experiment.

Private Podcast

A weekly(-ish!) private podcast offering bite-sized wisdom on health and wellbeing - blending clinical insights from Chinese medicine with personal reflections and real-world experiments. Each 15-20 minute episode shares what's happening in the clinic, seasonal guidance, practical techniques, and some of the honest realities of managing health in everyday life. Conversational, personal, and just for members - add your voice in the community space afterward.

Office Hours

Community Immersion level members only!

Each month, Immersion members are invited to live Office Hours - your space to ask questions, get help adapting the monthly practice to your reality, and work through whatever's coming up for you. If you can't join live, send your questions ahead of time and access the recording later!

I am a Licensed Acupuncturist, clinical herbalist, and certified health coach with a clinic in Des Moines, Iowa. I also have a lifetime's worth of experience living and adapting to multiple chronic illnesses. You can learn more about my training here!

Answers to a few frequently asked questions...

What is your refund policy?

Due to the digital nature of the products, there are no refunds after purchase.

Can I cancel at any time?

You are free to cancel your membership at any time! If you choose to cancel, your plan will not be renewed at the next charge. After canceling:

  • If you signed up for a monthly subscription, you will continue to have access until the month you purchased runs out.

  • If you purchased a full-year membership, you will continue to have access for the year.

Once your membership expires, you will no longer have access to any monthly themes, community spaces, or mini-classes. To access this material, you must have a current membership. You're free to subscribe again at any time!

Please note that, due to the digital nature of the products, there is no refund option.

Can I change my membership level?

You are welcome to change your membership level at any time.

What are your community guidelines?

Is the community accessible?

Accessibility is very important to me, and I do my best to ensure the community is as welcoming as possible.

  • Each course is a mix of written content and video and/or audio components. Transcripts are available for audio/video content. Slides can be provided upon request (though I do my best to describe what is on the slides while speaking).

  • Sometimes it takes a bit of time for me to add the transcript; this is a manual process for me, but I do my best to have it up ASAP.

  • The community areas are text-based and may have audio/video content in the posts.

  • All images have alt descriptions.

  • Transcripts will be provided for live events within a reasonable timeframe (this is a manual process, and so it can take some time to produce the transcript).

If you have access needs for live events, please contact me at least 48 hours prior to the event via email (kate @ fireweedacupuncture.com). I also welcome any questions about the community and accessibility - don't hesitate to email me!

Do you offer sliding-scale or discounted memberships?

I have a limited number of discounted memberships available for disabled, BIPOC, and/or LGBTQA+ community members! Please email me (kate@fireweedacupuncture.com) to check on the current availability.

How long do I have access to the community and monthly mini-classes?

You must have a current membership to access any of the community features, including the mini-classes. Once your membership expires, you will no longer have access to any monthly themes, community spaces, mini-classes, podcast, etc. To access this material, you must have a current membership. You're free to subscribe again at any time!

Can I listen to the podcast in my podcast app?

Currently, the podcast is only accessible within the community space, but you can listen to it on your phone! (Or tablet, or computer...)

I'm keeping the podcast within the community for now so that it truly stays a private podcast - a conversation with the community, where you can join in and comment on each episode.

Can I just buy the class and not join the community?

At this time, the mini-classes are only available as part of the community. There may be periodic sales of the classes during the year - subscribe to the newsletter to stay up to date!
